Rail Transit: FG Awards Multi-Million Security Contract To Muslim Cleric

The Federal Government of Nigeria awarded a multi-million Naira contract of securing rail transit to Messers Al-Ahali Security Guards Limited, registered in February 2022 and owned by an Islamic Cleric, Abdullahi Alhaji Bala Lau, pointblanknews.com findings revealed.
Findings equally revealed that Abdullahi Bala Lau, who has no security knowledge or background, is popularly known as Sheikh Balalau, an Islamic scholar, cleric and preacher.

He  equally doubles as the national Chairman of the Jama’atu Izalatul Bidi’ah wa Ikamatus Sunnah, the largest Salafi movement in Nigeria since December 2011.

Recall that the Federal government had on Wednesday approved N718 million for security services and surveillance of the Abuja light rail transportation system.

According to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Muhammed Bello, Messers Al-Ahali Security Guards Limited and Messers Seaguard Security and Protective Company Limited are the two companies to be saddled with the responsibility.

However, checks with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) revealed that Messers Al-Ahali Security Guards Limited is significantly under the control of a single individual, with a registered address as 1, Junction Wukari Street, Jemeta, Yola.

Al-Ahali security guard Limited is going to secure 27.4 kilometres of the track, covering eight stations at the cost of N407, 214,000 over a two year period, according to the FCT Minister.

A source who spoke under the condition of anonymity wondered why this contract will not be given to competent hands.
