Rep Member Beats Up Tricycle Rider Over Right Of Way

by Our Reporter

The member representing Obingwa/ Osisoma Ngwa/ Ugwunagbor Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Eziuche Ubani has allegedly beaten up a constituent over who has the right to use the road before the other.

The constituents simply addressed as Sunny who is a tricycle rider was said to have come face to face with the lawmaker’s private vehicle on a narrow road behind Ehere Modern Market in Obingwa local government area.

According to a source, the road was too narrow due to its bad nature making it impossible for the tricycle rider to quickly make a way.

“Before Sunny could make any move to clear his tricycle from the road to enable Eziuche Ubani and his friends to pass, they pounced on him, beat him up and destroyed his tricycle. They accused him of trying to kidnap them.
The guy was pleading that he is not a kidnapper, but they refused to listen to him. When he saw Ubani, he started calling Honourable, Honourable, but Eziuche Ubani refused to listen and called him a kidnapper.”

A member of the PDP in the council who also witnessed the incident, but pleaded anonymity hinted that Ubani started to threaten Sunny asking him if he can do what he did if it was Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe that was passing through the road.

“He was shouting, can you do it if it was Abaribe that was passing, is it because you know me. He refused to listen to appeals from us to let go of the minor incident. I don’t know what has come over our representatives; they now see themselves as thin gods. I didn’t like what Eziuche Ubani did to the boy’s tricycle, he could have let go of the incident. It is unfair; at least he saw the condition of that road, which he also has a duty to rehabilitate. It is unfortunate,” he lamented.

As usual, the lawmaker failed to take calls when his reaction was sought.
