Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on Monday, December 25, 2023 affirmed that President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point intervention agreement was aimed at solving the political crisis in the state, saying the intervention came at the right time.
Fubara said that President Tinubu’s intervention had brought about lasting solution to the political crisis in the state.
He explained that he had promised that the mantra of his administration would be continuity and consolidation, stressing that “nothing shall constrain or allow his administration to deviate from that path in his commitment to provide a steady flow of the dividends of democracy in all positive ramifications for the people.”

“Let me also use this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to our dear President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for wading into the near-crisis that almost punctuated the prevailing peace in our dear State.
“Indeed, by this singular effort, our dear President has demonstrated that he loves Rivers State and cherishes nothing short of a reign of perfect peace in our state with his Presidential Peace Proclamation on the 18th of December 2023.”
