The Senator Representing Abia South, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has been
freed from detention at the State Security Service, SSS.
Abaribe was arrested few days ago by the operatives of the SSS and has
since been under detention for undisclosed reasons.
It was speculated that his arrest and detention might be related to his
closeness to Nnamdi Kanu, the missing supreme leader of IPOB.
His lawyers and associates are now at the DSS headquarters in Abuja
processing the paperwork for his final release.
Abaribe had earlier appeared before Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako to defend
himself for being a surety to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has not been seen since
September last year when the army invaded his home and killed many
innocent people.
Justice Binta Nyako had during the hearing ruled that Abaribe be returned
to the SSS.
The SSS took him back to its headquarters after the hearing.
