President Bola Tinubu will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, ahead of his initial schedule, after concluding a two-week work vacation in France, the Presidency announced on Monday.
Tinubu, who left Nigeria on September 4 to spend part of his annual holiday in France and the United Kingdom, reportedly decided to cut short the break to resume official duties in Abuja.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency confirmed:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties,” the statement read in part.
During his stay in Paris, the President held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders reviewed bilateral ties and agreed to strengthen cooperation.
According to Onanuga, the meeting underscored Tinubu’s commitment to reinforcing Nigeria’s partnerships on the global stage.
“Both leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen the partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability,” the statement read.
Tinubu’s early return is expected to refocus attention on pressing domestic matters, as he resumes engagements with government officials and stakeholders in Abuja.
