The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that officers and men of the nation’s armed forces would continue to get the required training to enhance their battle readiness to.confront security challenges across the country.
The Minister stated this while addressing Officers and Men of Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base, Katsina, on Monday June 3, 2024 during his official maiden visit to the base in Katsina.
He Stated that President Tinubu’s administración has recorded tremendous successes in the fight against insurgency and other related crimes in the country.
A statement issued by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant to the Minister quoted Badaru, the immediate past Governor of Jigawa State as commending the Nigerian Armed Forces for their sacrifice and patriotism and urged them to sustain the tempo.
He added that he had been fully briefed about the troops performance and assured that all needed support will be provided to discharge their constitutional mandate of defending the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
The Defence Minister extended President Tinubu’s heartfelt sympathy over the recent tragic death of Combatant soldiers in Abia State, assuring that the culprits will be traced and brought to Justice.
Responding, the Commandant, Air Component 213 Forward Operation, Hadarin Daji Katsina, Air Comodore G I Jibia appreciated the Minister, describing his visit as a morale booster.
Earlier,the Minister held an interactive session with the Officers and Men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation, Hadarin Daji Katsina.
The Minister also visited the Nigerian Army Medical Centre Katsina where he sympathized with military personnel who sustained various injuries during combat operations.
