Top officials of the All Progressive Congress, APC and the Presidency have
been putting pressures on the Independent National Electoral Commission,
INEC, to conduct staggered elections, competent sources told

Staggered elections is when elections are not held the same day across the
country.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that officials of the APC and the Presidency
would prefer a staggered elections to enable them perfect rigging plans.

The source, who does not want to be named disclosed that the refusal of
the electoral body to the demand of APC and the Presidency to conduct a
staggered elections is reason why the conduct of the elections are being
sabotaged.

According to the source, the Presidency not only sabotaged INEC’s efforts
to transport election materials to various states, officials of the
Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, where sensitive materials were kept, refused
to cooperate with INEC in releasing election materials.

“All of a sudden, flights won’t take INEC materials, the ones that took
them, flew them to wrong destinations, CBN also would not want to
cooperate, they suddenly became too busy or stretched to work with us. We
just started hearing lots of excuses and this is strange,” a source told
Pointblanknews.com.

“They deliberately compromised logistics distribution,” the source said.

The source said INEC leadership is determined to conduct a free and fair
elections and would not yield to pressures to have elections staggered.

“The leadership of INEC from what I know would not yield to the pressure
to stagger the elections. They have made it clear and I am sure that is
why the APC and the Presidency are trying to frustrate the process,” the
source hinted.
