Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike took his grievances up a notch as he commenced the harassment of leaders in the South South to dump former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council.

Pointblanknews.com authoritatively gathered that Gov. Wike has began mounting pressures on his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Governor Udom Emmanuel to reject his appointment as Chairman of the PDP presidential campaign council.

It was further gathered that the aggrieved Rivers State governor is also reaching out to eminent leaders of the South South to reject the Atiku candidacy ahead of the presidential elections, alleging that the former vice president has no chance of winning the presidency in 2023.

Recall that penultimate week, the leadership of the party had announced the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council, with the Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel, as the council’s chairman.

However, according to an incontrovertible source, Gov. Wike has since the announcement, incessantly harassed the Akwa Ibom governor to reject the appointment.

The source further revealed that the conversations between the duo has been constantly recorded at the instance of the Gov. Nyesom Wike apparently without the knowledge of this Akwa Ibom State counterpart.

“Since the announcement of Gov. Udom’s appointment as Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, Gov. Wike has literally lost sleep, harassing the Akwa Ibom State governor to reject the position.

“Wike even ordered that his conversations with Udom be recorded maybe there will be something to blackmail him with in the coming days.” The source said .

Another credible source in the South South revealed that apart from reaching out to leaders in the region to reject the Atiku candidacy, Gov. Wike has threatened to deal with anyone around him supporting the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Gov. Wike has become increasingly bitter since he lost the PDP’s presidential ticket to former vice president Atiku Abubakar and has since been the source of internal wrangling within the party.
