The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has berated the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Eno, over his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) saying he has by himself ruined his reputation.
The PDP group said Eno’s defection to the APC has ruined his political rating and reputation among Nigerians especially among his own people.
Gov Eno after weeks of political romance with the ruling party, left the PDP on Friday, citing the need to align with the powers at the centre.
CP-PDP, in a statement by its National Coordinator, Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, said Eno, who assumed office with the reputation of a man of God and lover of the people is now shoveled among the ranks of arrogant, ungodly, thoughtless and depraved political actors , such individuals that Akwaibomites hated with passion.
CP-PDP said, “It is very unfortunate that Governor Eno who assumed office with the reputation of a man of God and lover of the people is now shoveled among the ranks of arrogant, ungodly, thoughtless and depraved political actors; abusers of women and notorious lawbreakers whose only desire is to accumulate power and loot the resources meant for the wellbeing of the ordinary people.
“The Conference after an extensive review, finds it disappointing that Pastor Eno could admire and decide to pitch tents with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is widely adjudged to have failed woefully in his mid-term assessment.
“By this decision to politically self-destruct, Governor Eno is standing alone in the journey to political oblivion as he can no longer command the solidarity of the people of Akwa Ibom state which remains in the PDP,” CP-PDP said.
Recall that just a few days before he finally defected, Gov. Eno convened a town hall meeting when attendees openly voiced their disapproval of his plan to dump the party (PDP)which made him. With this public show of disapproval by the people, the days and months ahead towards the general elections will be interesting.
