Foremost governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in Abia state, Barr. Friday Nwosu says he remains the
candidate to beat in the 2015 poll in the state.
In an interview with newsmen in Aba, Nwosu said he has assessed the
profiles of aspirants contesting for the Abia governorship position and
realized that he is better placed and possess the right credentials to
succeed Gov. Theodore Orji
Nwosu who expressed confidence that he will emerge the PDP flag bearer in
the governorship primary election called on residents of the state to join
hands with the present government to make the state a better place for
all, stating that the governor has placed Abia on a sound footing judging
by the quality of projects he has undertaken.
He disclosed that he is still consulting with the people of the state and
beyond about his ambition.
“I’m consulting the people of Abia state and beyond; consulting privately
informing them about my intention and seeking for support. The support we
are getting from the stakeholders and people across the state and beyond
is unparalleled. My ambition is a mass movement and this tells you that it
is a divine project. I have my unique selling points which will be made
known at the appropriate time,” Nwosu stated.
He condemned reports alleging that he will later withdraw for a better
candidate in the build up to the governorship race and called on people
seeking political offices to sell their programmes to the electorate
rather engaging in propaganda.
According to him,” As a legal practitioner, I deal with facts; I cannot
begin to talk about stepping down for anybody when I know that no aspirant
is better qualified than me. I can assure you that most of these aspirants
will not even purchase expression of interest forms. They are standing on
one foot, pretending to be aspirants but time will reveal these pretenders
and their game.”
He advised journalists to be factual in their reports instead of
misquoting people and pandering to political interests.
