The party said the candidates would fly its flag in their respective states and represent its commitment to providing Nigerians with “credible leadership and a real alternative.”

The development is part of the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with the party positioning itself as a major opposition platform ahead of the polls.
The list features several prominent political figures, including former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (Kebbi); former Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita (Katsina); former House of Representatives member Herman Hembe (Benue); former Delta governorship candidate Great Ogboru; and the 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
The emergence of the candidates is expected to add another dimension to the 2027 governorship contests, particularly in states where the ADC has fielded well-known political figures.
The unveiling also underscores the party’s efforts to strengthen its presence and establish itself as a major opposition platform ahead of the elections.
The ADC urged its governorship candidates and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and shun political violence, hate speech and other forms of provocation during the electioneering period.
