Abia 2023: Ukwa, Ugwunagbo PDP stakeholders root for Oko Chukwu

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ukwa West, Ukwa East and Ugwunagbo Local Government Areas of Abia State, have described the state Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu as a man with great experience and assured him of quality support in his governorship ambition.

The stakeholders, who spoke during the Deputy Governor’s consultative visit to the three local government areas, said Oko Chukwu is the kind of leader the state needs in 2023.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman, Ukwa West LGA, Chief Okey Kanu; PDP Chairman, Ukwa West LGA, Chief Kingsley Enyite and Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, who commended the Deputy Governor , said they have known him for his humility and loyalty, adding that the state needs an experienced and humble politician like him in 2023.

In Ukwa East council, Member representing Ukwa East state Constituency, Hon. Paul Taribo; the Chairman of the LGA, Chief Chuks Wabara, represented by the Deputy Chairman, Ukwa East, Chief Eric Ugbor, and the Sole Administrator of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (ASOPADEC), Hon. Emeka Stanley, described the Deputy Governor as the right man for the job and assured him of support in his governorship ambition and.

In Ugwunagbo LGA, It was a carnival-like reception as the stakeholders led by the PDP chairman in the area, Hon. Promise Iheasinmuo prayed God to bring to realization the dreams the Deputy Governor to succeed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023.

In separate speeches at the three local government areas, the Deputy Governor urged stakeholders and delegates to the party’s primary election to give him their mandate as he is fully prepared to solve the problems bedeviling the state.

He explained that as a former speaker and current deputy governor, he is familiar with the problems of the state and would work tirelessly to take the state to greater heights, if given the mandate in 2023.

Describing himself as a party man who has worked for the growth of the PDP in the state, Oko Chukwu charged the delegates to make the right choices through voting for an experienced aspirant like him.

He said; “We are the number one state in all ramifications and we must remain number one. You are the one that will determine who will govern us. God has given us a responsibility to do the right thing by electing the best person. I’m a party man and I have worked selflessly and assiduously for our great party. I strongly believe that if you work for the party, the party will in turn reward you.

“As a legislator, I sponsored many bills which positively affected both the state economy and the lives of Abia people. I’m familiar with our problems; Abia State is a work in progress. Our future is in our hands and the time to make things right is now. I have come to solicit your support. A vote for me during the primary election is a vote for confidence and it’s not a wasted vote.”

The deputy governor described Ukwa West and Ukwa East LGAs as the treasure base of the state and pledged to give priority attention to the infrastructural development of the area, when elected.
