Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji says the state remains one of the most conducive for investors in Nigeria.
Orji who stated this in his presentation at the Canada – Nigeria Investment Conference in Toronto described Abia state as fertile for investments.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, the governor disclosed that huge investment opportunities abound in Abia state in areas such as agriculture, mineral resources, oil and gas, real estate amongst others.
According to the governor, mineral resources which the state boast of in commercial quantities and yet untapped are copper, granite, phosphate, gold, gypsum, kaolin as well as opportunities in mining and quarrying activities.
He added that tourism and the hospitality industry remains a fertile ground for investors, stressing that huge opportunities also exist in the real estate sub sector for building and management of housing development.
Orji also reminded potential investors that in the area of agriculture, Abia state boasts of fertile land and has comparative advantage in the production of cassava, cocoa, beverages, fruits and rice.
“With the improving power supply in Abia from NIPP and private power companies, the state is now ripe for foreign investment,” the governor added.
