Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Ude Oko Chukwu has charged the people of the state and Nigerians in Diaspora to show greater commitment towards the vision of their communities and government.
Oko Chukwu gave the charge in a goodwill message to members of Nkporo Development Union, USA Chapter on the occasion of their Annual Convention and Education Endowment Fundraising Banquet in New York.
In a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Obasi Okibeh Onwukah, the Speaker described the Education Endowment Fund raising as a worthy and lofty step towards uplifting the educational fortunes of the people of Nkporo Ancient Kingdom.
The Speaker described people in the Diaspora as patriots who are determined to continuously mobilize and harness resources for the common good of the people at home, adding that by doing so, they would be complementing the efforts of their home government in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
He solicited the continued support of the people of the state for the government and prayed God to sustain the Nkporo people in the USA as they embark on projects for the wellbeing of Nkporo Kingdom.
