Abia to launch special security task force to check kidnapping

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has said that a special security strike force
comprising the police, army and SSS will be launched in the state next week to check
insecurity, especially kidnapping.

The governor disclosed during a meeting with critical sector groups at Government
House, Umuahia.

He said that the state is to sponsor the first batch of youths to Porto Novo to
study integrated agriculture before the end of this year,adding that his
administration intends to meaningfully engage about 20,000 youths from the state.

According to him, his government has corporate plan for youths,stressing that the
paradigm will be different from the past practice where vehicles and stipends were
given out as empowerment to the youths.

He said that what youths desire was sustainable empowerment ,starting with education
and promised to provide the right environment for businessmen especially
manufacturers to do their business.

Ikpeazu said that government will in the next three months commission the revenue
house, a one stop shop for those willing to do business in the state, adding that
the guideline for all approved taxes payable in the state will soon be ready.

He saluted Aba people for their co-operation with his government and disclosed that
the Ariaria international market will be upgraded to restore its master plan.
