A new Commissioner of Police, Janet Agbede, has assumed duties in Abia state.
She is the 31st CP to head the Abia state police command.
Agbede took over from her predecessor, CP Ene Etim Okon, who has been transferred to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Briefing Journalists shortly after the handover formalities, Agbede warned criminals to steer clear from the state.
She disclosed that her priority in the state would be the protection of lives and property of residents.
In her words, “I have the mandate of Inspector General of Police to ensure that Abia people who are industrious in nature would have a secured environment to do business”.
Before her new job, Agbede was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. She is an alumnus of University of Ibadan and has attended various professional courses, both home and abroad.
