The Anambra State Police Command has announced the successful rearrest of one of the suspects involved in the kidnapping and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Justice Azuka was abducted on December 24, 2024, and his lifeless body was later discovered on the Second Niger Bridge on February 6, 2025.
Following his death, the police arrested several suspects in connection with the crime.  However, two suspects managed to escape from police custody in February 2025 during an operation to apprehend another individual linked to the crime. The escape triggered wide spread condemnation.
The police have since intensified efforts to recapture the fleeing suspects with the intention of bringing all those involved to justice.
The arrest of the remaining suspect marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, and the police have vowed to continue their efforts until all individuals responsible for the crime are apprehended and prosecuted.
