The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Egbema Kingdom, High Chief Promise Lawuru, popularly known as Ozigizaga, has commended the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, for his transformative leadership in repositioning Nigeria’s oil sector.
Addressing journalists at a public event on Monday in Abuja, Chief Lawuru applauded Lokpobiri’s strategic initiatives, which he said have boosted crude oil production and supply across the country.
He equally thanked President Bola Tinubu for entrusting such a vital responsibility to an illustrious son of the Ijaw nation.
According to Lawuru, the perception of Nigeria’s petroleum sector, both at home and abroad, has significantly improved since Lokpobiri assumed office. He noted that the minister has been proactive in convening high-level engagements and introducing programs designed to ramp up production and attract foreign investments.
“Lokpobiri has effectively turned the reform agenda of President Tinubu’s administration into measurable progress, reshaping the sector’s policies and laying the foundation for wealth creation and security for both investors and Nigerians at large,” Lawuru said.
He emphasized that in the last two years, the oil industry has witnessed greater stability, increased investor confidence, stronger production capacity, and a calmer atmosphere for exploration in the Niger Delta.
Lawuru added that Nigeria’s crude oil output has risen modestly, recording over 1.8 million barrels per day under the leadership of former NNPCL GCEO, Mele Kyari, a development he described as encouraging for the industry.
He also referenced President Tinubu’s landmark executive order aimed at promoting cost efficiency in oil and gas operations, which has set clear benchmarks for fresh investments, higher revenue generation, and improved benefits for citizens.
The APC chieftain further attributed the sector’s improved performance to President Tinubu’s decisive leadership, which, he said, has been instrumental in attaining the current production capacity of 1.8 million barrels per day, inclusive of condensates.
