The Federal High court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Gabriel Kolawale will tomorrow resume hearing in the Suit filed by the African People’s Congress, APC seeking to upturn the decision of INEC to deny the African People’s Congress registration after the group fulfilled/complied with all the legal requirements for registration as a political party.
The battle over APC between the African People’s Congress and the their Rival APC will in the long run determine the shape of the 2015 election battle which is already heating up. The African People’s congress which was first to apply and complete the registration process with INEC was later denied registration by INEC on a flimsy excuse of non availability of their Officers Address, a requirement theAfrican People’s Congress duly submitted and was acknowledge by INEC.
The Federal High Court Abuja is expected tomorrow to give ruling on pending application which will go a long way in shaping the battle over who owns APC including a pending Injunction to restrain the continued usage of the APC Acronym by the rival All Progressive Congress, APC pending the determination and completion of the main suit.
As we return to the Court tomorrow, we urge all our members and supporters to remain strong and committed as the African People’s Congress is confident that in the long run, the Judiciary will restore the registration of the African People’s Congress APC and any other action taken by any group or INEC would have been an exercise in futility.
