APGA Accuses Ihedioha, Ohakim, Others Of Plot To Destabilize Imo. . . . . .It Is A Lie, Says PDP

Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has accused the deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha and ex-governor, Ikedi Ohakim of a plot to cause crisis that might lead to mayhem in the State.

The party said it has been reliably informed that over two hundred buses carrying thugs from unknown States will converge in Imo State on Wednesday to force the speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu to swear in Mr. Eugene Dibiagwu as a member representing Oguta State constituency, in a matter which it noted, is still before the court and on which the Judge has ruled that the status-quo should remain.

In a press statement endorsed by its State Chairman, Prince Marshal Okoroafor Anyanwu, APGA said it gathered that the hoodlums who have been imported into the State intend to remain and create instability at the 27 local council areas in protest for the former chairmen whose tenures have ended in the belief that any resistance from Imolites will lead to mayhem and a declaration of a State of emergency.

They reason that if Gov. Okorocha is in office till 2015, PDP will lose the entire South-East which they claim is the belief of the Presidency. We also understand that this group and their leaders have assured their followers that every effort will be made to make the state ungovernable.
The arrow heads of this plot are: Ikedi Ohakim aka Ikiri, Hope Uzodinma, Emeka Ihedioha , Eze Duruiheoma, Cletus Ilomunaya, Athan Achonu aka One Armed General and others who do not mean well for Imo State,” the party alleged.

The party further alleged that Ohakim has promised to sponsor this plot and has released Fifteen Billion Naira (N15, 000,000,000.00), money meant for Oguta Wonder Lake, Midwest Airline, Oak Refinery, IRROMA Roads, Ring Roads and Flyovers in Owerri among other projects which he appropriated funds for but was only internet-based.

“Imolites must remember that our dear State was mismanaged by this group of persons for several years without progress. We also understand that the Speaker Uwajumogu is under intense pressure by this same persons and the PDP to ignore the court ruling stopping the swearing-in of Mr Dibiagwu. This same group is instrumental to the current strike action by the resident doctors of IMSUTH. It should be noted however that the Imo State government is one of only two States in the country that pays one hundred percent COMESS and COMHESS to doctors and that the strike action is totally uncalled for and illegal considering that it did not follow due labor laws, it said.

APGA urged the doctors to remember their oath and consider the well-being of the citizens of Imo State first in all their actions.

We hereby use this medium to put Imo people on notice about this unholy act by a few misguided people who plot mayhem against their own State. APGA notes with regret that the former PDP chairmen gained access to the L.G.A Headquarters by the use of the Police force, but now if their present cause is genuine, they should use all peaceful, lawful and constitutional means to seek redress rather than resulting to violence.

The statement said that APGA stands ready to defend the mandate given to the Gov. Rochas Okorocha (OON) and urged the people to remain vigilant.

In a swift reaction, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu said there is no iota of truth in the allegations that his party has advanced plans to cause crisis.
