The Nigerian Army 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi has embarked on a
aggressive clearance and search of forest to flush out suspected criminal
elements in Lame forest Toro local government of the state.
The Commandant of the Brigade, Birgadier Abraham Luka Dusu disclosed this
while addressing journalists in Lame Forest yesterday.
He said the clearance of forest was in line with Chief of Army staff
directive to get rid of all criminals elements in the surrounding forest
including Boko Haram.
According to him, ”following the information we received that people
carrying guns have been sighted in the forest or migrated to state from
sambisa forest by the ongoing operations, we are going to entered all the
forest in the state with adequate troops. There are reports of bandits
,kidnappers and Cattle rustlers”.
General Dusu said the operations will be conducted in various forest
across the state that includes lame, Yankari, balmore and Burra forest,
which are so thick, it will be thourally such and cleared by troops of the
Brigade.
He charge the locals and the local vigilante groups to remain and report
any suspected case or movement of criminal elements to the authorities.
The Commandant 33 Artillery said the operation is continue one that will
be extended to other forest in the state.
