Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha who is also
the governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party in Imo state,
clarified at the weekend that he is the authentic candidate of the party
in the gubernatorial election slated for February 28, next month
He spoke against the background of erroneous claims and protests
orchestrated by Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and a few other defeated
governorship aspirants over his candidature.
Hon Ihedioha who noted that Senator Ararume conceded victory to him at
Grass Hoppers International Stadium, venue of the primary election, when
the result was announced by the chairman Imo state Guber Primary Election
Panel, Terngu Sergba wondered why he turned round in an attempt to
discredit a well organized primary
He accused the All Progressives Congress government in the state of
instigating the defeated aspirants to create crisis in Imo PDP.
Hon Ihedioha made these remarks while commissioning the Umulezie- Mpam
road project in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Council of Imo state which he
attracted to the people through Niger Delta Development Commission. The
event took place at Ihite Afoukwu Civil Centre in Mbaise.
He adjudged his victory at the primary as a triumph for all indigenes of
Imo, appealing to all sons and daughters of Imo to rally around him to
dislodge the “bad governance of Governor Rochas Okorocha”
He said:”Governor Rochas represents bad governance. I want to make a
difference in Imo, restore good governance in the state and set the state
on the path of economic prosperity and infrastructural development”
He denounced the rot in the education system in the country noting that he
would reform education sector in the state through qualitative free
education
Traditional rulers, politicians and the elders of Ahiazu Mbaise local
council used the opportunity offered by the event to endorse the
candidature of Hon Ihedioha
