Boko Haram: PDP Derides ACN Over Inciting Comments On Amnesty

by Our Reporter

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lambasted the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for attempting to heat up the polity over the set up of an amnesty committee for Boko haram.

The National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Oliseh Metu said President Jonathan’s decision to set up the committee was indicative of his dedication to finding a lasting solution to the security problems.

Metu said “the attention of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) has been drawn to a statement by the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in yet another of its attempts to heat up the system and cause chaos in the country.

“The statement is replete with tissues of lies and propaganda and once again portrays the ACN as a party that lacks direction and given to noise making.

“It is on record that President Goodluck Jonathan has fully empowered security agencies to effectively tackle the Boko Haram insurgency and his decision to set up an Amnesty Committee on the issue shows his dedication and total commitment in his regard.

“We challenge the opposition to come out with their solution to the problems instead of always trying to heat up the system for selfish reasons.

“We decry the emphasis on Lagos and South West and enjoin the ACN to go beyond their regional approach to issues concerning the country.”
