Sunusi lamido Sunusi, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Sunday in the northern Nigerian city of Kano installed his wife, Sadiya as Giwa Danmaje.
Though critics saw the hillarious honour to Sadiya as Sunusi’s gimmick to assuage her over recent scandals involving the larger-than-life CBN Governor in extra-marital relationships, Sunusi insisted that the honour was entirely conceived to celebrate a woman who is the “Pillar” of his life.
The celebration of the Sunusi’s heralded the Majen Kano’s traditional rites for the Eid-El-Fitr.
Sunusi said that the woman in his life, Sadiya, has been a pillar of stability†on the home front, adding that “credit goes to this woman of blue blood that proved to be a pillar of peace in all my trying periods.
The decision to confer this title on this woman of substance was a sign of gratitude for the positive role she has played in my life over the last twenty five years in marriage.I married Sadiya 25 years ago during the silver jubilee of the revered Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero. By next December, it would be exactly 25 years of eventful wedlock.
