Enugu Air, the newly launched state-owned carrier, has been enmeshed in controversy after officials were caught on video forcefully ejecting a passenger from one of its flights on Monday.
The clip, now circulating on social media, shows the man being dragged off the aircraft as onlookers watch in shock. A voice is heard shouting, “Yes, yes, go down,” while some passengers appeared to cheer his removal.
The passenger’s identity and the cause of the altercation remain unknown. Neither the airline nor the man involved has made any public statement explaining the chaos that marred one of Enugu Air’s first weeks of operation.
The incident adds to a growing list of high-profile clashes between passengers and domestic airlines. Just weeks ago, Comfort Emmanson made headlines for her heated exchange with Ibom Air crew on a Uyo–Lagos flight, while Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, was embroiled in a dispute with ValueJet Airlines at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Aviation watchers say the spate of incidents raises questions about how Nigerian airlines handle onboard disputes and the conduct of some passengers as well.
