American R&B singer, Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester, England, on May 15, 2025, in connection with an alleged assault at Tape nightclub in London’s Hanover Square on February 19, 2023.
The 36-year-old artist faces a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent after music producer Abe Diaw accused him of striking him multiple times with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle, followed by punching and kicking, resulting in serious injuries and hospitalization.
Brown was detained at The Lowry Hotel in Salford, Greater Manchester, shortly after arriving in the UK for his upcoming “Breezy Bowl XX Tour,” which is set to begin on June 15 at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on May 16.
This incident adds to Brown’s history of legal issues, including a 2009 felony assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna and various other allegations and lawsuits spanning over a decade. All eyes on May 16 and the duration of trial if a prima facie case is established.
