The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a women leader of the City Boys Movement, wanted over allegations of “obtaining money by false pretence.”
The City Boys Movement, a political support group widely associated with President Bola Tinubu’s re-election mobilisation efforts, has been touring parts of the country to sensitise Nigerians on the achievements of the current administration.
The Commission announced the declaration on Monday in a notice published on its official X handle, stating that Tejuosho is being sought in connection with an ongoing investigation into financial crimes.
“The suspect, Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a case of obtaining money by false pretence,” the notice stated.
According to the anti-graft agency, the case is still under investigation, although it did not provide further details of the alleged offence.
The notice, signed by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, appealed to members of the public for assistance.
“Anyone with useful information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Commission or any of its offices nationwide,” it said.
The EFCC also advised the public to reach it through its official communication channels or report to the nearest police station or other security agencies.
