Clergy Prays For Nation, Immediate Release Of Former NBA President, As 2014/2015 Legal Year Opens In Bayelsa State

The 2014/2015 legal year of the Bayelsa State Judiciary opened on Monday with a thanksgiving service in Yenagoa with Governor Seriake Dickson and the host, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kate Abiri and her counterparts from Kogi, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, Delta, Justice Z.A Smith and Ebonyi, Justice AloyNwankwo in attendance.

 

Also in attendance were the President of the Bayelsa State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Daniel Ayah and his counterpart from from Ebonyi state, State House of Assembly members, commissioners, traditional rulers among others.

 

Governor Dickson read the first lesson at the service, which was taken from the Book of Deuteronomy, Chapter 8, verse 6 to 7 and 10 to 20, while the State Chief Judge took the second lesson from the Book of Psalms 127 verse 1.

 

In a sermon with the topic, “The Danger of Ingratitude,” by the State Pastor of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Rivers State, Ibim Alabraba, stressed the significance of thanksgiving.

 

Commending the Executive and Judicial arms of government for initiating programmes to dedicate their affairs to God, Pastor Alabraba urged the congregation to be truly appreciative of God’s blessings at all times as they owe their lives to Him.

 

According to him, turning away from sin and keeping the divine commandments will lead to their salvation and acknowledge the fact that, all power and authority come from God.

 

Intercessory prayers were offered for members of the Bayelsa State Judiciary, the Civil Service as well as the release of the abducted immediate past President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Okey Wali (SAN).

Prayers were also said for the President, Vice President of the country, the Federal executive Council, the Senate President, other members of the lower and upper chambers of the National Assembly and the people of the state.
