The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended all Dana Airline flights pending when the airline is able to fix all safety issues surrounding its aircrafts.
Aviation sources told Pointblanknews.com that Aviation officials discovered that one of the aircrafts operated by Dana Air has developed battery problems, a major safety issue.
Mr. Joe Obi, Media Adviser to the Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah confirmed the suspension of the troubled airline to Pointblanknews.com.
“It is true. The Minister is mostly concerned about safety of Nigerians and she is determined to ensure that those operating airlines adhere strictly to safety,” Obi told Pointblanknews.com.
According to him, “the Minister would not compromise safety and operators have been warned to adhere to international best practices and those who fail won’t escape sanctions.”
The airline said in a statement on Sunday that it did not know the reason for the suspension.
It resumed flying in September last year after the crash in June in Lagos in which 153 person on board and 10 others on the ground were died.
