Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has denied a paternity claim circulating on social media, saying five separate DNA tests have already confirmed that he is not the biological father of a teenage girl making the allegation.
The claim surfaced after an Instagram user, Anu Adeleke, shared an open letter online appealing to the singer to submit to a DNA test.
In the post, the teenager said she had lived for years without knowing her father, a situation she claimed exposed her to persistent bullying and emotional distress.
She explained that the unresolved question of her paternity had taken a toll on her mental well-being and sense of identity, stressing that her request was not driven by malice but by a desire to establish the truth.
Addressing Davido as “Mr David Adeleke,” she urged him to help bring closure to the issue.
The letter quickly went viral, triggering widespread debate and reactions across social media platforms.
Responding to the renewed claim, Davido maintained that the matter had already been conclusively addressed.
According to the singer, no fewer than five DNA tests had been conducted in the past, all of which returned negative results.
“We took five DNA tests and they all came back negative,” Davido said.
While the debate raged online, some of the singer’s fans weighed in on the controversy.
One fan was quoted as saying that at this point, the young girl should either locate her biological father or fund another DNA test herself.
The episode has continued to spark divided reactions online, with some users calling for empathy toward the teenager’s situation, while others have backed Davido’s stance, arguing that repeated negative DNA results should be sufficient to put the matter to rest.
