Developing: Some abductors, killers of Edo Catholic priest apprehended by youths

Two of the killers of Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of St Micheal Catholic Church, Ikabigbo, were apprehended by youths of Uzairue community of Etsako West LGA on Sunday night.

Initial reports had said that Reverend Father Odia was found dead by members of Vigilance group in Jattu.

Regardless, the latest report said that the community youths were on the trail of the kidnappers, who invaded the residence of Rev Father Christopher Odia in his residence on the premises of the Church about 6 am on Sunday.

Reports said that the youths were in hot pursuit of the abductors suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen.

The abductors reportedly opened fire on their pusuers, killed one of them and seriously injured three others.

The kidnappers, as reported, also gunned down the Reverend Father in anger.

The youths, according to the reports, wouldn’t give up even with the casualties on their side until they apprehended two of the gang members.

One of the abductors was burnt to death and the other was rescued from the angry youths by policemen.

The arrested abductor is said to be making useful confessions to the Police Area Command.
