The Bayelsa State government has expressed shock over the sudden demise of the first Vice-Chairman of the Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Dimgba Igwe, describing his death as a tragic loss not only to his immediate family, but the entire Country.
Making this known in a condolence letter to the Management of The Sun Publishing Limited, the Bayelsa State governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson said, Igwe would be remembered for his unbiased and constructive criticisms, which had assisted in strengthening the nation’s democratic rule.
Igwe, unbiased commentator, a prolific and fearless writer, will be remembered for his contribution to the growth of the nation’s democratic rule. His death is a big loss to the journalism profession.
His death came when his service is most needed, especially now that the Country is preparing for the conduct of another general election.
Also, the governor called on the security operatives to put up the necessary apparatus at ensuring the arrest of the arrest of the driver responsible for the death of one of the heroes of Journalism in Nigeria.
Even though, Igwe is gone, his legacy and what he stood for while alive, should not be allowed to die.
