Dogara hails PDP victory at Osun Tribunal, Says judgement rekindles hope for those who felt robbed of their mandate

by Our Reporter
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, has hailed the
judgement of Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting
in Abuja which upheld the petition of the PDP Candidate and declared the
September 27, 2018 supplementary governorship election held in seven
polling units illegal, describing it as a refreshing reminder that the
judiciary is still alive and working.

He said  tribunal judgment which held that the supplementary election was
a product of an illegal cancellation of  results in seven polling units
during the September 22, 2018 main election and that the Returning Officer
who cancelled the results had no power to do so has rekindled hope in
Nigerians who felt robbed of their mandates in the just concluded general
elections.

The speaker warned the Governor of Bauchi State as well as the Resident
Electoral Commissioner of the state to take a cue from the judgement and
learn  a lesson that the truth will always prevail, no matter how long it
takes as the wheels of justice grinds slowly but surely.

While congratulating the  Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship
candidate, Ademola Adeleke, he urged PDP candidates who are standing for
elections tomorrow, as well as their supporters, to be encouraged by this
judgement and come out enmasse to vote for the party
