The Briton, who was a member of the UK Parliament from 1987 to 2015, has become very interested in President Tinubu after the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which he chairs, cut ties with Niger and imposed crippling economic sanctions after a military coup overthrew the country’s democratically elected president.
Galloway criticized the sudden measures that led to Nigeria cutting off power to the troubled country. He then went on Twitter to criticize Tinubu and call him a drug dealer in the US.
He wrote, “I began to look into the past of Tinubu, who is the leader of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). I had no idea that he sold drugs in the United States. And the poll that put him in power is still being questioned as to whether or not it was fair.”
Soon after, a former aviation minister named Femi Fani-Kayode slammed Galloway, telling him that if he was looking for corrupt leaders, he should look within and to several Western Prime Ministers, Presidents, and leaders like George W. Bush, Tony Blair, Barack Obama, David Cameron, Nicolas Sarkozy, Boris Johnson, and so many others, “who collectively and over the last 25 years orchestrated proxy wars in so many countries, plundered
Fani-Kayode, a leader of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress and Director of defunct Special Media Projects and Operations & New Media, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, told Galloway to stop attacking Tinubu or get ready for a lot of trouble in his “murky, inglorious, meaningless, and completely uninspiring little life.”
In response, the former British lawmaker said he wouldn’t back down until he showed the world that Tinubu had a criminal record.
He also told the Nigerian Judiciary to run a fair trial by using the trending phrase #AllEyesOnTheJudiciary, which is a call to action for the judges running the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Also on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the former MP wrote on his Twitter account that if Bola Tinubu hadn’t promised to invade Niger, he might not have had time to think about Tinubu and his past.
He wrote, “The truth is that #Nigerian #Bagman #Tinubu might not have caught my attention if he hadn’t threatened to invade #Niger and have #Africans kill #Africans for #France and the #US Empire. I have a lot of things to do.”
“But now that he has, and his barking chorus is in full-song, I won’t give up,” he said.
