FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Holidays

Nigerians can look forward to an extended holiday break as the Federal Government has announced Friday, April 18th, and Monday, April 21st, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a message conveying warm wishes to Christians nationwide on this festive occasion, Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasised the significance of embodying the values of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ’s selfless act.
The Minister, through a statement issued by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, also urged Nigerians to utilize this holiday period for prayer, focusing on the peace, unity, and stability of the nation. He reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national progress and development.
Furthermore, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged all Nigerians to spread love and kindness to their neighbours through acts of generosity and goodwill during this special time.
The Minister concluded by wishing all Christians a joyous Easter celebration and extending warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
