The Federal Government will be inaugurating the remodelled international terminal of the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) Kano, on March 15.

Mr Yakubu Dati, the General Manager, Corporate Communications of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), disclosed this in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday.

The statement noted that the terminal was the fourth remodelled terminal to be inaugurated in the last five months.

“The remodelled terminal has a full complement of modern facilities, a walkway on the air side, a new cooling system, conveyor belt, check in counters and an ultra modern VIP lounge,’ it said.

It said that the remodelling of the terminal involved the extension of the departures lounge, increasing of its seating capacity, and refurbishment of the upper floor for better ambience.

The statement added that MAKIA, which is the oldest in the country, was one of the 11 airports earmarked for remodelling in the first phase of the Airport Remodelling Project.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Airport Remodelling Project was designed to modernise all airports in the country in line with existing international standards and best practices.
