Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has restated his unwavering dedication to making further sacrifices aimed at achieving enduring peace across the state.
In his Eid-el-Kabir goodwill message to Muslims, Governor Zulum assured that his administration would intensify efforts toward enhancing security in all resettled local government areas. He stressed that the state government will continue to work in synergy with the Federal Government, the Armed Forces, and other security outfits to ensure long-term stability.
Delivering the message on behalf of the Governor, his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Dauda Iliya, called on residents of Borno and Nigerians in general to use the festive season to reflect and pray for security personnel, including the military, Civilian JTF, hunters, and vigilantes, who put their lives on the line for the peace of the region.
“I extend heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community as we mark Eid-el-Adha, a festival rooted in sacrifice and devotion,” Governor Zulum said. “Let us uphold the spirit of obedience, compassion, and perseverance, as taught by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). Let us also remember in our prayers those who protect us, our gallant troops and community defenders.”
Speaking further, the Governor referenced his recent visits to Marte, Rann, Gamboru Ngala, Dikwa, Kukawa, and Monguno, noting that the determination and resilience shown by the people in those areas signal hope.
“Our collective strength is our greatest weapon against insurgency,” he said. “I remain committed to going the extra mile and investing heavily in the security sector to ensure peace becomes permanent.”
Governor Zulum also extended congratulations to pilgrims from Borno State currently observing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia. He encouraged them to offer prayers for Borno, the North East, and the nation at large.
“Prayer is our strongest tool,” he affirmed. “Just weeks ago, I called for a statewide day of prayer and fasting, and the overwhelming response revealed our shared determination to overcome insecurity.”
Governor Zulum gave assurance that his government will not relent until every part of the state is fully secured and residents can live without fear.
