Publicity Secretary of the Imo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Blyden Amajirionwu has been suspended by his Ward and the Ngor Okpala local council chapter of the party over alleged anti party activities and attacks on the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha who represents Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala federal constituency.
Amajirionwu who also been ordered to appear before the partys Disciplinary Committee in Owerri zone, has been having a running battle with the state PDP after he convened a stakeholders meeting at his residence in Owerri where he berated Ihedioha for sidelining indigenes of Ngor Okpala local council in nominations into boards of federal agencies and parastatals.
The embattled publicity scribe was said to have presented a list of nominations attracted to the constituency by the Deputy Speaker which were all filled by indigenes of the Ihediohas home council, Aboh Mbaise. He reportedly vowed that the Ngor Okpala people would fight the Deputy Speaker to no end if he dares to actualize his rumoured ambition for the Imo government House in 2015.
According to source who attended the meeting, Most of us agreed with Amajirionwu said but the problem is that no one would want to speak for fear of the wrath of the party. Ngor Okpala people have been marginalized by Ihedioha, everything whether project or appointment to his people in Aboh Mbaise. Is this fair? We have raised this issue with Ihedioha on several occasion but he will only
promise to rectify it. After three tenures in a seat meant to be rotated between the Ngor Okpala and Aboh Mbaise local governments, he should have been fair to Ngor Okpala. I dont see how our people will support him in his government ambition because we have not been treated fairly.
Close associates of the Deputy Speaker who neither confirmed nor denied the marginalization of the Ngor Okpala people, hinted that Ihedioha has vowed to deal with Amajironwu for daring to convene a meeting against him.
They blamed Amajirionwu for convening the said meeting and attacking a high ranking member of the party, stressing that there are channels for an aggrieved members to air their views. Amajirionwu who is a state party official should have known better. He should have come out in the open to attack the Deputy Speaker in a meeting where his loyal were even present.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that from a member of the state executive committee that the suspension of the embattled publicity scribe may be approved by the Disciplinary committee if the evidence against are anything to go by.
We want to give him fair hearing. At the end of the day, the decision will be based on the outcome of the Disciplinary Committee. But I want to tell you that there are weighty allegations against Amajirionwu. He is in big trouble, the source added.
