In the build-up to the 2015 general elections slated for March 28 and April 11, 2015, Elombah.com has just been informed that the Independent Electoral Commission [INEC] has resolved to recall the about 154,000 card reading machines meant to be used in the elections.
Our source gathered that the decision is to enable INEC to reconfigure the machines to tally with the new election dates.
INEC National Commissioner, Chris Imoga speaking on election card readers informed newsmen that “they now have to be reconfigured so that the dates of March 28, 2015, and election of 11th of April will now appear”
“As soon as you come we register you, do your accreditation, your authentication will be done and the appropriate dates will reflect on the card readers,” he added.
INEC has come under fierce criticism after the shift of the election meant to take place on February 14, and 28, 2015 over various challenges including insecurity and unpreparedness.
