The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali has alerted all police formations in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Plateau State command of possible attacks on government facilities by terrorists.

According to the letter, “Intelligence report at the disposal of the Inspector-General of Police has uncovered plans by Boko Haram Terrorists to attack major cities in the country, particularly in Jos, Plateau State and the FCT, Abuja. The proposed attacks would be coordinated by the duo of Muhammad Sani, a Boko Haram Commander, domiciled in Sambisa Forest and his Deputy, Suleiman (fnu), hibernating around Lawan Musa Zango, Gashua, Yobe State.
” In light of the above, it is the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you review your security architecture across all critical Government infrastructures and Police fecilities in your jurisdiction with a view to checkmating the dastardly plans of this marauding terrorists.”
Pointblanknews.com has reported that one of the factional leaders of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau was killed a fews ago during an internal and supremacy squabbles amongst the terrorists.
Shekau’s Boko Haram faction and fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province had been battling in northeastern Borno state, where ISWAP militants have become the dominant force in Nigeria’s more than decade-long jihadist insurgency.
After a series of clashes, Shekau and some of his fighters were surrounded on Wednesday by ISWAP jihadists in Boko Haram’s Sambisa forest stronghold, where they demanded he surrender, one intelligence source said.
