Iran Hopes Obama Second Term Will “Not Be Like The Past Four Years”

by Our Reporter

Iran on Wednesday expressed the hopes that the re-election of U.S. President Barack Obama would lead to new developments in the relations between the two countries.

“The challenges ahead of Obama in his second presidential term will hopefully lead to positive impacts and developments and would not be like the last four years,” said IRNA, the official news agency.

The Iranian government itself has not made any official reaction to Obama’s re-election.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left on Wednesday for Indonesia to attend the Bali Democracy Forum.

Iran and the U.S. have had no diplomatic relations for over three decades and hopes that the status would change from Obama’s presidency in 2008 failed, mainly due to Iran’s uncompromising stance over its disputed nuclear programmes (dpa/NAN)
