Controversial singer Habib Okiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again stirred the music scene, claiming he has helped more artists than top Nigerian stars like Olamide, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, and Davido.
In a fiery video trending on social media, the Zazu crooner boasted of supporting upcoming artists and even the less privileged, unlike his celebrity peers, whom he accused of being egoistic.
“Many Nigerian celebrities won’t even post fans dancing to their songs. I repost every positive video about me,” Habib Okiola said.
He went on: “Even with money, many won’t feature upcoming artists. But I help freely. I’ve helped more people in the music industry than Don Jazzy, Olamide, Wizkid, and Davido.”
He also drew a line between real help and business moves: “Help is taking a homeless person home, feeding, clothing, and taking them to their first studio session. Anything else is just business.”
He slammed other stars for using young artists for profit and later labeling them “ungrateful” when they try to go independent.
Portable’s bold claims have already ignited debates on social media, with fans divided over whether he truly backs upcoming talents more than the industry giants.
