JTF Foils Another Attack In Kano, Seven Arrested

Plans by members of the Islamic Boko Haram sect to strike in Kano, northern Nigeria, on Workers’ Day was foiled by the Joint Security Task Force (JTF) who arrested seven mebers of the sect, demolished bomb factories and enclaves of the dreaded Islamic militants.

The JTF as part of its routine raid and based on information raided Farawa and Sheka areas of the state, known to be the camps of the terror-gang.

JTF spokesman, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed the incident, noting that no life was lost during the dawn raids .

He said dangerous weapons were also intercepted during the raid include AK 47 rifles, 46 explosives of different calibres as well as bomb making materials.

Security agents also recovered 32 Motorola phones and 52 phone batteries, wires for priming suicide vehicles and a number of laptops.

Captain Iweha noted that  two bomb factories were demolished after the explosives found in them were evacuated, adding that the raids were part of JTF’s routine assignment to free Kano from the grip of terrorists.

According to him, the  JTF would continue to intensify their raids as part of the measures to track down suspected Boko Haram members who have been terrorizing innocent citizens of Kano State.

He recalled the success of the house to house search initiated by the security team, which to him is suffocating the terrorists and believe that the war against terrorists in the state is been won by men of the JTF.

Pointblanknews.com reports that security has further been beefed up in Kano following recent attacks in neighbouring states of Borno, Yobe and Jigawa.
