Some members of the Kebbi State Chapter of the All Progressive
Congress (APC) have accused the state Chairman, Attahiru Maccido of
diverting over N25 million meant fro the party.
In a letter of contained signed by 30 state and local government
executives of the party and addressed to the National Vice Chairman
(North west).
They said the state Chairman “Single-handedly changing the mandate and
signatures of the account without the consent or approval of the
executive committee in apparent breach of Article 23 of the
constitution”.
Those who signed the letter include: State treasurer, Alhaji Musa
Abubakar Danmaliki; chairman of APC Elders, Alhaji Sani Zauro;
financial secretary, Aliyu Bature; assistant financial secretary, Umar
Bagudu; Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Sani Dododo; Assistant PRO
Garba Bakanke; auditor, Muhammad Arzika; and assistant auditor, Isah
Ibrahim.
“We also regret to bring to your notice that all the monies sent by
the national headquarters which were for the state chapter were not
collected or remitted to the financial secretary as provided by the
constitution. No approval was ever sought by the chairman to spend
party funds and this is to show serious mismanagement, an act which
cannot be condoned,” the letter stated
