A High Court sitting in Awka, capital of Anambra State in Nigeria’s South-East, this morning ruled that the April 8 National Convention of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was in order.
The verdict by the court presided over by Justice Uzor declared Chief Maxi Okwu as the legitimate National Chairman of APGA.
The ruling is yet another setback for Chief Victor Umeh, who has been insisting that he remains the party’s Chairman.
On May 15, the Federal High Court in Awka had vacated the ex-parte order it placed on the new National Executive Committee of APGA led by Chief Maxi Okwu.
Responding to this morning’s judgement, Okwu said: “We have prevailed again at the Anambra High Court this morning. To God be the glory.”
