The Rivers StateGovernment will interface with the Inspector General of
Police and the RiversState Police Commissioner to produce the sacked
Factional Rivers State APCChairman, Ojukaye Flag Amachree in court for his
murder trial on March18, 2019.
Addressing journalists after the Rivers State High Court sitting in
PortHarcourt on Wednesday adjourned the murder trial of OjukayeFlag
Amachree, Counsel to the Rivers State Government, Chief Godwin Obla
(SAN)said the interface has become necessary because of the refusal
ofthe sacked Factional Rivers State APC Chairman to willingly appearin
court.
Godwin Obla (SAN) notedthat the State Prosecution Team will use the gap
between now and the nextadjourned date to interface with Inspector General
of Police (IGP), MuhammedAdamu and the Commissioner of Police in Rivers
State, Usman Belel to requestthat they strictly comply with the order of
the Court and produce thedefendant, Ojukaye Flag Amachree on the next
adjourned date.
Obla emphasisedthat if the accused person is not produced on the next
adjourneddate; there are legal processes to compel the IGP and the
Commissioner ofPolice in Rivers State to produce the accused person on the
18thof March2019.
On Wednesday, a HighCourt sitting in Port Harcourt adjourned till 18th of
March, the murder case between the State and the sacked Rivers State
factionalchairman of APC , Ojukaye Flag Amachree.
The trial Judge , Hon.Justice J. N. Akpughunum adjourned the matter
following the absence of thedefense counsel and the accused person in
Court.
The matter which hadearlier been fixed for the 24th January 2019 for the
defendant, Ojukaye FlagAmachree to take his plea was adjourned to 20th of
February 2019 following multiple murder charges leveled against the
factional chairman of APCin Rivers State.
