A prosecution witness has told a Lagos Special Offences Court that social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, allegedly collected N69.15 million from him for a five-year lease of a property she did not own.
The witness, Dr Onuoha Okeigwe, made the allegation on Monday, October 12, 2026, while testifying before Justice R. A. Oshodi at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, during the continuation of the influencer’s trial over alleged obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge involving N69,150,000.
According to the prosecution, the defendant allegedly induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to pay the money by falsely representing that a property at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos, belonged to her and was available for a five-year lease.
The charge alleged that the offence occurred on or about March 21, 2025, contrary to Section 1(2) and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act.
Blessing CEO, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Testifying before the court, Okeigwe said he contacted the defendant after encountering problems relating to the property, but she allegedly dismissed his concerns.
He told the court that a man identified as Mr Tom later arrived at the premises with police officers and arrested some of the clinic’s workers.
“I informed the defendant, and she claimed she did not know Mr Tom. I paid N100,000 to secure the release of my workers. Blessing still maintained that she did not know Mr Tom and that she was the owner of the property,” the witness said.
Okeigwe also identified WhatsApp conversations in which the defendant allegedly sent him photographs of the building to support her claim of ownership.
He further told the court that he paid additional charges, including agency, legal and caution fees, in connection with the transaction.
The witness maintained that the dispute centred on the alleged representation of the property as belonging to Blessing CEO when, according to him, she was not its actual owner.
He also alleged that the defendant collected money from another person for the same property.
The allegations form part of the prosecution’s case against the influencer. She has denied the charges by pleading not guilty, and the allegations have yet to be established before the court.
Justice Oshodi adjourned the case until October 26, 2026, for continuation of the trial.
