Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, describing the incident as a tragic reminder of the growing insecurity affecting children and families across the country.
In a post shared on his social media handles on Wednesday, the award-winning singer lamented the continued targeting of children by armed groups, stressing that no family should be subjected to such trauma.
“No family deserves this pain. No child deserves to go through this. It is devastating to see our young girls taken away from their schools again. This has to stop,” he wrote.
Davido called on security agencies to intensify efforts toward rescuing the abducted students and preventing further attacks on educational institutions.
He also urged government at all levels to prioritize the safety of children, insisting that schools must be protected at all costs.
The singer extended prayers to the families affected by the incident, expressing hope that the girls would be safely reunited with their loved ones soon.
The abduction has sparked nationwide outrage, with many Nigerians demanding swift rescue and return of the girls.
