Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi, on Sunday said that the state government was making efforts to rehabilitate the Obajana-Kabba road.
Wada said this at the thanksgiving service to mark the 21st anniversary of the state at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lokoja.
Wada,who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, called on residents to have faith in the administration as it had taken measures to reposition the state’s economy.
He said that the Emergency Maintenance bill currently before the state assembly was meant to ensure proper maintenance of roads in the state.
He said the state government was collaborating with the Federal Government to repair the Obajana-Egbe road.
The governor sought for more understanding, saying the administration had faced some challenges at its take off.
On the security situation in the state, Wada said that the government would continue to protect the lives and property of the people, adding:“We are on top of the security challenges in Kogi.”
He urged the people to remain peaceful and help to create conducive environment for investment.(NAN)
