The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has assured federal workers that the ongoing upgrade of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) will not affect the payment of October salaries.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the OAGF dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the software upgrade would delay salary payments. The office described the claims as misleading and urged public servants to disregard them.
According to the OAGF, the IPPIS previously ran on three payroll platforms. One of these platforms was successfully migrated to the “SoftSuite” application in 2024, leaving two active systems — EBS and SoftSuite. Owing to the underperformance of the EBS platform, the Federal Government decided to consolidate all payroll activities under the SoftSuite system to improve efficiency and accuracy.
“The integration of all payroll processes into a single platform has been carefully managed. While minor issues may arise during the transition, all observed errors and omissions are being addressed promptly. The management does not anticipate any significant disruptions,” the statement read.
The OAGF further assured that October salaries remain intact and will be paid as scheduled. It called on Treasury and IPPIS staff to ignore rumours of delay, emphasizing that such reports did not originate from the office.
“For accurate and verified information, the public is encouraged to rely solely on official communications from the OAGF,” the statement added.
